The Atomic bomb is a nuclear weapon. The Hiroshima bomb was made of uranium-235, which is a rare isotope of uranium extracted from giant factories in Tennessee. The Nagasaki bomb was an implosion-type device made mostly of plutonium-239, a synthetic element created in nuclear reactors at Hanford, Washington. The atomic bomb was first tested at Trinity Site on July 16, 1945, near Alamogordo, New Mexico. The test weapon "the gadget" was also made of plutonium-239.
